CIMC Raffles and Van Oord signed an EPC contract for the construction of 1+1 large wind turbine installation vessels.
This WTIV is the world’s latest generation, designed by the Danish design company Knud E. Hansen.
This vessel has a total length of 175.1 meters and a deck area of more than 7,000 square meters, which can accommodate 135 people working and living onboard at the same time. It also features a large-capacity methanol storage tank and a methanol dual-fuel main engine. The carbon dioxide emission is expected to be reduced by 78% as well as nitrogen oxide emission.
The cooperation of these two companies promotes the offshore wind power industry.
CIMC Raffles is gradually expanding strategic directions in the marine new energy and offshore wind power. In April, CIMC Raffles got the order to build 3060 Series Offshore Wind Power Installation Vessel
