CIMC Raffles delivers the 2nd Largest dual-fuel Ice-class RoRo Ship in the world

At 10:30 a.m. on June 22, the second RORO series ro-ro ship built by CIMC Raffles for the Swedish customer Wallenius SOL was delivered at Pier 2; the two parties signed the delivery documents on the afternoon of the same day and obtained the British ship. The classification society LR’s delivery certificate represents the project’s official delivery and acceptance.
The first ship of this series, RORO 1#, was delivered on May 13 this year, and then loaded with large construction machinery and containers in China and South Korea and set off for Europe. It is scheduled to arrive at the Port of Antwerp, Belgium at the end of June. Similarly, RORO 2# will also go to a nearby port to “drop in” to load the goods and then head to Europe after delivery.
The two sister ships of the RORO project were awarded the “Best Ro-Ro Ship in 2022” at the industry-renowned Ferry Shipping Summit for their advanced design and good performance.

The ship has a length of 241.7 meters, a width of 35.2 meters, a lane of 5800 meters, and a speed of 20 knots. It is equipped with two 685m³ C-type LNG storage tanks and is equipped with an efficient LNG dual-fuel propulsion system, which can significantly reduce carbon oxides and nitrogen oxides during sailing. It is more environmentally friendly and more flexible. During the trial voyage in fuel mode and gas mode, the performance indicators of the ship met or even exceeded the expected indicators. The ship can operate normally in harsh seas with ice thickness of more than 1 meter and will operate in European waters after delivery.

中集来福士交付第二艘全球最大双燃料冰级滚装船
6月22日上午10点30分,由中集来福士为瑞典客户Wallenius SOL建造的RORO系列滚装船第二艘在2号码头完成交付;双方于当日下午签署了交船文件,获得英国船级社LR的交船证书,代表着该项目正式交付并获得验收。
该系列项目的首制船RORO 1# 已于今年5月13日完成交付,随后在中国及韩国装载大型工程机械、集装箱后出发前往欧洲,计划将于6月底到达比利时安特卫普港。同样的,RORO 2#也会在交付后,前往附近港口“顺路”装载货物后前往欧洲。
RORO项目两条姊妹船凭借先进的设计与良好性能,在业界知名渡轮航运峰会(Ferry Shipping Summit)上获评“2022年度最佳滚装船”。
该船船长241.7米,宽35.2米,车道5800米,航速20节,装备有两个685m³C型LNG储罐,配置高效的LNG双燃料推进系统,可显著降低航行时的碳氧化物和氮氧化物等有害物质的排放,更加环保且更具灵活性。该船在燃油模式和燃气模式试航时,各项性能指标均达标甚至超出预期指标。该船可在冰层厚度超过1米的恶劣海域中正常行驶,交付后将在欧洲海域运营。
