Construction of 4th 86,000 cubic meter VLGC in Jiangnan Shipbuilding

On June 22, the construction of the 86,000 cubic meters VLGC started. The ship is the fourth in a series signed by AW Shipping Limited and Jiangnan Shipbuilding. The ship type is completely independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding, target to “energy saving, environmental protection, and intelligence”. It featured LPG dual-fuel main engine + shaft generator to enable the ship to meet the new IGC Code, Tier Ⅲ emission standards, and the latest SOx emission requirements are economical and environmentally friendly.

The reliable control of the empty ship, general layout, stability and storage, power station load, and Fuel consumption, maintain a good environment onboard. Jiangnan Shipbuilding is experienced in delivering good quality and highly reliable vessels.

Completion of Type B tank of 99,000 cubic meters of the liquefied gas carrier (VLEC)

On June 30, the world’s largest class of 99,000 cubic meters of VLEC Type B tanks No. 1 and No. 2 achieved successful delivery. This is after the delivery of No. 3 and No. 4 on May 12. All other four tanks were completed within the year.

The B-type cabin of the first-built ship started from the simulation section production, which lasted 15 months. Optimized from No. 3 and No. 4 tanks, No. 1 and No. 2 tanks have shortened the total assembly cycle by 45 days, the improvement of the installation process.

At present, the B-type cabin section of the second ship in the series has been completed, and it has now fully entered the main construction. It is planned to complete the delivery in September this year.

Two dual-fuel ships realized the main engine motor car on the same day

On July 2nd, the first series of 15000TEU dual-fuel ultra-large container vessels (ULCV) and 86,000 cubic meters dual-fuel very-large gas carriers were constructed. Among them, 86,000 cubic meters of VLGC completed all project tests and inspections in only 1.5 hours. At the same time, in order to ensure that the shaft generator can operate smoothly during the sea trial, the commissioning team used the main engine to complete the commissioning of the shaft generator projects to achieve power generation and characteristic verification at low speeds. In addition, the basic commissioning of the gas project is now completed and awaiting inspection; the liquid cargo project has completed 80% of the inspections, making sufficient preparations for the upcoming regular sea trials and gas sea trials at the same time.

The project management team of Jiangnan Shipbuilding will continue to summarize the experience of various series of ships, pay attention to construction details, and continue to improve in key technical issues, process methods, and construction integrity.
