DACKS has received orders for three 64,000DWT Bulk Carriers from Almi Marine

Greek shipowner Almi Marine has returned to the newbuilding market after a lapse of 15 years, placing an order for 3 bulk carriers at Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., LTD (DACKS).

It is reported that DACKS and Almi Marine signed a construction contract for three 64,000DWT Ultramax bulk carriers on April 21, and the new ships will be delivered in 2024. This is the first new ship order undertaken by DACKS this year, and the specific price has not been announced.

It is reported that Almi Marine began negotiating with DACKS about 4 months ago to order new ships. The initial plan was to order 2 Ultramax ships, but then the order quantity was expanded to 3 ships. This series of ships will meet the requirements for the third stage of the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI).

For Almi Marine, the DACKSi order is the company’s first order for a new vessel since 2007. According to Clarksons, Almi Marine last booked a ship in 2007, when the company placed an order for three 57,260DWT Handysize bulk carriers at STX Marine Shipbuilding. The three ships were ordered from 2010 to the 2011 Year delivered.

At present, Almi Marine‘s fleet has 7 bulk carriers with a total capacity of about 400,000DWT, of which the youngest is the 58,635DWT “Sole” built-in 2013, which was acquired by Almi Marine in March last year.

Clarksons data shows that at present, DACKS has a total of 31 orders of 3.4892 million DWT, including 11 container ships and 20 bulk carriers, and the delivery time will continue until 2025.

大连中远海运川崎获希腊船东3艘64000吨散货船订单

希腊船东Almi Marine时隔15年重返新造船市场，在大连中远海运川崎下单订造3艘散货船。

据悉，大连中远海运川崎和Almi Marine在4月21日签署了3艘64000载重吨Ultramax型散货船建造合同，新船将在2024年交付。这是大连中远海运川崎今年承接的首份新船订单，具体价格并未公布。

有消息称，Almi Marine大约在4个月前开始与大连中远海运川崎协商订造新船，最初计划是订造2艘Ultramax型船，但之后将订单数量扩大到了3艘，该系列船将符合船舶能效设计指数（EEDI）第三阶段要求。

对于Almi Marine而言，大连中远海运川崎的订单是该公司自2007年以来首次订造新船。根据克拉克森的数据，Almi Marine上一次订船还是在2007年，当时该公司在STX海洋造船下单订造了3艘57260载重吨级大灵便型散货船，3艘船在2010年至2011年交付完毕。

目前，Almi Marine旗下船队拥有7艘散货船，总运力约40万载重吨，其中船龄最小的是建于2013年的58635载重吨“Sole”号，由Almi Marine在去年3月收购。

克拉克森数据显示，目前大连中远海运川崎手持订单共计31艘348.92万载重吨，包括11艘集装箱船和20艘散货船，交付时间一直延续至2025年。
