On October 9, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, China Shipbuilding Trading and China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) signed a contract to build a 115,000DWT crude carrier.

The Aframax 115,000DWT crude carrier design meets the requirements of the CMES tanker and was independently developed by DSIC. The total contract value is $51.5 million.

With the current crude oil price fluctuation which affects the oil tanker market, the collaboration of DSIC, China Shipbuilding Trading, and CMES increase the competitiveness of DSIC in the oil tanker market.
