On July 20, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore (DSIC) delivered successfully the 307,000DWT crude carrier “NEW ERA” to China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES).

This vessel is the first vessel in the series of energy-saving and environmental protection VLCC. It is also the 20th 300,000DWT VLCC delivered by DSIC to CMES.

The vessel has a total length of 333 meters, a width of 60 meters, a depth of 30 meters, and a design draft of 20.5 meters. It is classified into ABS.

The vessel design is targeting to the optimization of energy saving in the vessel operation ship, greatly reduces the consumption of fuel, and improves the navigation performance under the rough sea.

This series of vessels not only has excellent overall indicators, but also reliable operating and environmental performance, meets the HCSR coordinated common structure specification, meets the latest nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide emission requirements, meets the requirements of EEDI in advance, and meets the Convention on Hazardous Substances of EU SRR, etc.

DSIC continues to achieve the breakthrough by delivering the vessel 40 days ahead of schedule based on the great effort of the project team.
