DSIC delivers 307,000 VLCC New Ambition to CMES

On October 25, DSIC delivered the 307,000 DWT VLCC MV “New Ambition” to China Merchants Energy Shipping.

The sister ship New Era is delivered to CMES in July. This series of VLCC meets HCSR requirements and the latest nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide emission requirements. The vessel complies with EEDI Phase Ⅲ.

The vessel has a total length of 333 meters, a width of 60 meters, a depth of 30 meters, and a design draft of 20.5 meters. It is classified into ABS.

This series of VLCC is optimized in energy-saving and environmentally-friendly VLCC, meets the strict environmental regulations. The series performs an outstanding low fuel consumption, which reduced by about 25% in comparison with other non-energy- saving vessels.

Up to now, CMES has a total of 52 VLCCs in operation (51 of which are 100% owned), and 4 ships have been ordered.
