From GTT

In the last months of 2021, GTT received major tank design orders from a lot of Korean shipyards, specializing in 174,000m3 LNGCs.

As announced from GTT, Korean shipyards Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) has recently given orders of 3 new LNGCs’ tank design.

Two newbuild LNGCs will be constructed in HHI Shipyard, and the other will be built in HSHI on behalf of an European shipowner.

GTT will design the tanks of the vessels, which will each offer a capacity of 174,000 m3. The LNGC tanks will be fitted with the GTT Mark III Flex membrane containment system. Associated engineering services will also be provided to assure the best service quality.

Deliveries of the vessels are scheduled for the third quarter of 2024.

GTT has also received the tank design order from HSHI to equip 2 liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueled container vessels with its membrane containment technology in November and in last September, the other 2 new 174,000m3 LNGCs’s tanks for an unnamed European Shipowner.
