On July 15th, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, to start the first steel-cutting of 93,000 cubic meters very-large liquefied gas carrier (VLGC) for Petredec Holdings Pte Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Petredec). The representatives of the shipowner’s supervision team, DNV classification society, and shipyard signed the certificate of commencement of construction.

The vessel is the fourth-generation VLGC ship type (Panda 93P) independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding and is currently the world’s largest dual-fuel VLGC. The design adopts the fourth-generation patented line type (VS-Bow MK-IV), which performs well under full load, ballast, and liquid cargo loading conditions.

At the same time, under the premise that LPG fuel is used throughout the main routes, the ship can still ensure that the cargo volume, speed, and fuel consumption, and other performance indicators are at the leading level in the industry.

Jiangnan Shipbuilding will build 6 93,000 cubic meters VLGC for Petredec. The first ship is scheduled to be delivered in early 2023.

The construction team will continue to focus on summarizing the experience of the VLGC and VLEC ship types under construction, optimize the design, and focus on providing customers with more reasonable, safe, economical, and environmentally friendly comprehensive solutions.

Jiangnan Shipbuilding always builds the products thoroughly and delivers high-quality ships in the market. The shipyard outstandingly scored many shipbuilding orders in the first half of 2021, making it achieve more than half of annual tasks as reported in early July.
