On April 28, the first 5,800-meter-lane ro-ro cargo ship built by China Merchants Industry Nanjing Jinling Shipyard for Finnlines Plc, a subsidiary of Italian Grimaldi Group, was successfully delivered at the Jinling Yizheng plant in Nanjing. Nanjing Jinling and Grimaldi Company signed 12 two-type series ro-ro ships in 2018, including 3 5,800-meter-lane cargo ro-ro ships. The ship delivered this time is the first of the 5,800-meter-lane series ships, and other ships are built. The project is progressing as planned.
The ship is 238 meters long, 34 meters wide, and has a speed of 20.7 knots. As a new type of ro-ro ship with hybrid power, the ship adopts an air drag reduction system, battery energy storage system, solar energy system, ice paint, desulfurization tower, ballast water treatment, and other energy-saving and environmental protection measures, and uses fuel oil during sailing. The battery system realizes boosting and peak-shaving functions and is converted into a battery power supply when docked in the port, realizing the true “zero carbon emission” when docking in the port, and meeting the EEDI energy efficiency requirements of the latest IMO standard. The ship has a carrying capacity of 5,800 meters of lanes, can load 386 trailers with a length of 13.6 meters, and can load 20, 30, 40, and 45-foot standard containers on the top deck. The middle of the cargo hold and the lift deck can be loaded with trolleys, which are energy-saving and environmentally friendly, and flexible in cargo loading. Efficient and so on. The ship is built according to the Italian RINA classification society classification standards and meets the requirements of Green Plus and ICE IA SUPER.
