Prospero won the Tanker of the Year 2021 award

The Tanker of the Year 2021 award has gone to the tanker Prospero built by China’s Wuhu Shipyard.

The announcement appeared at the tanker shipping and trade dinner held in Athens, Greece on November 2.

M/T Prospero was launched at Wuhu Shipyard on 22 January this year. The vessel is built based on FKAB’s design. The vessel is in the series of two vessels for Rederi AB Donsötank.

The FKAB design optimized to achieve maximum cargo intake, for low fuel consumption, designed for excellent performance in calm/ harsh weather conditions.

It is worth noted that another listed tanker Live Knutsen is also made in China and classified into DNV. The vessel is delivered in advance of 33 days.

“Live Knutsen” is a Suez-type shuttle tanker with a total length of 278.9 meters, a profile width of 47 meters, and a profile depth of 24.9 meters. The vessel is independently designed and developed by COSCO Zhoushan Heavy Industries.
