In just one week, the Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group received other 11 ships of US$871 million, with a total of 100 ships receiving orders of US$5.5 billion, giving an outstanding result in the first half of the year. 

On June 30, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group announced that the company has received orders for 11 new ships, including 6 15,000 TEU container ships, 3 3300 TEU container ships, and 2 82,300 DWT bulk carriers, with a total contract value of US$871 million. And just a week ago, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding announced that it had received orders for 14 new ships totaling US$715 million. So far, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group has received 100 new ship orders in the first half of the year, totaling over 5.5 billion U.S. dollars, and holding orders in a total of 160 ships at 7.72 billion U.S. dollars. This is a new record in the shipbuilding industry!

It is reported that the latest six 15,000 TEU container ships are from Seaspan Corporation, an old “friend” of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, and the new ships will be delivered in the first half of 2024. Prior to this, Seaspan had announced on June 28 that it had ordered six 15,000 TEU container ships. These new ships will be equipped with desulfurization devices. After delivery, they will sign a long-term charter contract with a leading global shipping company.

In addition, the latest 3 3,300TEU container ships on the order from Ningbo Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd. The new ship is scheduled to be delivered from the end of 2023 to the beginning of 2024.

Furthermore, the two new 82,300 DWT will be built by Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding. The cost of each vessel is about 32 million US dollars.
